What Is Internal Page Linking?

Internal linking is the process of connecting all pages of your website to each other with links.

Simply put, visitors can easily move from any page to another, usually to the next one that makes sense in context.

For example, you have “Contact” and “About Us” pages. You can connect them with links so that users can easily go to the contact page while reading information about your company, and vice versa.

Internal Linking Recommendations

  1. Do not overload pages: do not add all links to one page.
  2. Place links logically, where they make sense.

Here is another example:

This is text, and here I want to attach additional information about SEO and a website icon.

Notice how the links are naturally embedded in the text:

  1. The links are placed in a logical context and are easy to click.
  2. The link text is not too short and not too long; it highlights the keyword that communicates the meaning.
  3. When users see this kind of link, they immediately understand which page will open after they click it.

It is important to keep in mind that a website usually has many pages, and linking them to each other is good practice.
